On the first day of coming to Shanghai, my darling friend Bee took these pics of me before we went out to celebrate my 30th birthday. The wind was blowing rather strongly on the 19th floor of her apartment gardens and it made it hard to look poised and femme fatale-ish, a.k.a Rita Hayworth in the Lady of Shanghai, plus I was too joyous about seeing my friend to be able to pull my usual femme fatale scowl. ;)
So, let's talk about this dress! I love it so much and constructed the design/triangle features of it in my head while thinking about making good use of the Sapa material I bought when I was there. I suggesting the triangle shape neck line cos I love dresses with this style. Tran and I discussed it a bit more and then thought about how to do the back so we could make it interesting. Ohhh, I love this dress so much and it's the second of my Sapa Fusion collection that you've seen. Hehehe, one more to go... MWA HA HA HA!
(evil villain cackle)
So, with my new awesome dress, silver accessories and black flats, I painted the town of Shanghai a happy shade of red on my 30th!
And posed for these photos in gale force winds.
And I etched random femme fatale-like quotes on napkins with an inky pen.
(I often write ideas, lists and thoughts down. The notes section of my phone is insane and I recently have gotten into voice memos too..hahaha, oh the things I find! I usually use voice memo when I am too lazy to write my ideas or when they are coming faster than I can write, it's actually pretty handy.)
And went to cool bars and had fun catching up.
What a night!
( I took the pic above of Shanghai from the SWFC Observatory during my trip and the one below of Pudong from the Hyatt on The Bund's Vue Bar. I sometime love the panorama camera option)
I got to celebrate my 30th, with one of my closest friends who I was looking forward to seeing desperately, in Shanghai, one of the most vibrant cities in the world, on The Bund, in a beautiful new dress and pretend to be a femme fatale for photos.
Ahhh, life is too sweet sometimes.
